Wiseguy: Life in a Mafia Family is a 1985 non-fiction book by crime reporter Nicholas Pileggi that chronicles the life of Henry Hill, a Mafia associate turned informant. The only parts of the book that I didn't really care for was the many many details that were like 1 or two pages long that I found myself skipping. (I don't recall if the author ever mentioned it) But it does make me wonder if the author of the book actual found the other people that said their point of view (Karen and Linda) in the book and interviewed them like he did with Henry, or if he just picked them up from details that Henry gave. Nicholas Pileggi's vivid, unvarnished, journalistic chronicle of the life of Henry Hill-the working-class Brooklyn kid who knew from age twelve that 'to be a wiseguy was to own the world,' who grew up to live the highs and lows of the mafia gangster's life-has been hailed as 'the best book ever written on organized crime' (Cosmopolitan). I like how it changes view points from characters. Now for a review on the book, I like the way it was written. (Stabbing a guy in the first scene- eFor once, the movie didn't ruin the book, they are equally fun to watch and read. ![]() ![]() I could never understand why she would always watch it. Every since I was born, my mom has loved the Goodfellas movie.
